Mastodon ( https://mastodon.social/about ) is less popular than Twitter/"X"/"Xwitter", but reportedly it's pretty good for getting in touch with other artists. And... It's 'not' run by a crazy-person. :)
Bluesky 'also exists', but I didn't hear enough about it to say if it's any good or not.
